Caudwell Children is a national charity founded in 2000. We transform the lives of disabled children by providing access to the services, equipment, therapies and treatments they need to lead happy, active and independent lives. The vision of the charity is a world where all disabled children and their family have choice, opportunity, dignity and understanding.
100% of every £1 donated to us helps us continue our life-changing work. Since we were founded 19 years ago, we’ve provided over £43 million worth of services, supported over 45,000 children with over 650 medical conditions.
As the charity grew it became apparent that there is a great need for support around Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is why in 2019 we’ve launched Caudwell International Children’s Centre which is the UK’s first independent purpose-built facility dedicated to autism. Designed and built in consultation with families it provides an environment that meets the needs of children with a condition.
It’s our firm belief that through early diagnosis, support and research we can help improve the quality of life of autistic children and their families. In order to achieve this we have pioneered the Caudwell Children Autism Service (CCAS) which provides assessment, intervention and support for children with autism.
The centre is based on the grounds of Keele University in Staffordshire.
£5 provides the volunteer to push a child’s wheelchair, allowing their parents to see their smile as the experience a supported holiday or short break.
£15 could buy 1 hour of practical and emotional support from our Family Services team to help families when they need it most.
£50 could provide a short break activity for a disabled child to learn new skills and make friends.
£2,000 could provide a year of physiotherapy for a child who is learning to walk for the first time.
Caudwell Children transform lives of disabled children. We provide the life-changing support disabled children so desperately need.
